Pretty good morning. Finally got some love with UNC and MUSC.
I have a terrible suspicion i am doing something wrong. Is there a magical rock im supposed to kiss or a troll im suposed to bribe for IIs?
Nice got that MUSC yesterday, Nothing from UNC. Step 1 224 and Step 2 237 tho so unlikely i get an early interview from UNC.
Finally got an interview from one of the places I auditioned at. They don't have a lot of interview dates, but they're all empty. I believe a lot of these programs are actually reading through a ton of applications.

I'd honestly be pretty pissed if they didn't. Those of us without jaw dropping scores, publication sheets, and/or program names kinda banked on LORs and work experiences and such haha

It's kind of interesting going on the reddit spreadsheet and looking at the programs that have been trickling out some invites daily and those that sent out like a tidal wave within the first few days of the apps going out. It seems like most programs are going through them and sending them out as they finish through the day or something.
yeah. The programs that sent out interviews in the first day or so had to have used basic score/geography/school filters. Now that I'm getting interviews from programs I audtioned at, and seeing how no one else is really scheduled, makes me feel better about the slow trickle of IIs that's occurring.
It's been the slowest day yet in terms of programs sending out invites I feel like. If the spreadsheet is right only like a handful of university programs have been active today.
I feel like the MD/PhD keeps you in contention for the majority of places
Ya i applied to like 90 universities and am banking that MD/PhD gets me invites to most.

are you going to let programs bully you into research track? i feel like i'm getting less interviews than expected because i didn't apply pstp with a md/phd.
TBH id prefer that to the ghost.
Well I just got University of Connecticut and I did NOT do casper. Guess it isn't required for II's.

Yeah I think the more I think about it I agree with you. Although it was not that competitive of a program but I'm assuming it's because my app didn't show any regional ties to that area.

Seems like it’s a gear up to get through everything by the time ERAS goes down. Kind of like a goal point to then let the invites fly

Haven't been here in a long time (throwback) but just wanted to echo the sentiment, I've gotten secondary requests and "information" emails from multiple surgery programs who have said they will start sending invites in November, a couple specifying Nov. 6th and Nov. 8th as start dates for sending invites. So I think we really are early, only a week out, and it takes time to read these huge applications of ours, especially when places get 1000+!
Another dry day for the books.

yeah same. I wasn’t going to do Casper, but I forgot to remove Hamilton after the list came out on another thread. I already had it under saved programs. Still, I signed up for the latest date because I figured if I got some invites I would just skip it. But since I’m still at zero, I did it. I’ve also done duet, but haven’t done the snapshot part yet.
2 of my top 5 sent out II’s today and not to meeeeee. Uggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
