Coat Sizes Question

Hello fellow students,

I am going to start Medical School in the Fall, and I'm currently filling out all this ridiculous paperwork. Anyways, my school says I have to pick a size of the coat for myself, and the sizes are given in US men's coat sizes. I have no clue how to convert that to women's and also, I'm not from US, so I have cannot even try to estimate the size.

That being said - could someone tell me what size I should order if I normally wear clothing size "S" or 2/4?

I know this is silly, but I appreciate your help 🙂

A unisex small generally corresponds to a men's 34-36. Since you'll have plenty of stuff in your pockets, I'd suggest getting either a 36 or 38. Also, while I can't speak for the procedure everywhere, the size form here was mainly for the purposes of letting the bookstore know how many of each size they needed to get. Later, if people's coats didn't fit, they could get another size.

Run over to your local department store and try on some men's coats. If anyone asks tell them to go jump in a lake. Then sue the school for insensitivity.

I think a 30 or 32 will actually fit your shoulders best, but I suppose the pockets are said to be bigger for the 34-36?
