Let me tell you where its at for study food/drink combo.

Get some decent quality coffee (starbucks, dunkin donuts, whatever you consider quality) and along with it eat some dry roasted peanuts, raisins, and M&M's mixed together (trail mix). It is sweet, salty and bitter all together, the best study combo ever.
agreed. i also really like an apple with some pb as a study snack.

Dude, does anybody have this issue in which immediately after downing a cup of coffee you start feeling drowsy? Every time I have coffee, a short while later I start feeling really really drowsy and take a short nap. Only after that short nap do I feel the full caffeine induced alertness.

Anybody know why the hell that would happen? It is annoying.

paradoxical drowsiness. it's a side effect of caffeine for some people. 🙁

Wow there's like 10 times the amount for yes that there is for no. I drank alot of coffee in undergrad, but I don't like having caffeine affect my wake cycles and not getting enough rest or using it to compensate so I really don't drink it now except sparingly.

got a nespresso machine, one of those automatic espresso makers, on ebay for 100 dollars, most amazing thing i've ever bought. like an automatic crack dispenser, cant live without it

I think it is interesting. People who drink coffee can't function without it. People who never drink coffee don't need it and don't have the extra expense. Hmmm...

I was thinking I would get something along those lines.

i can't live without some delicious QDOBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love QDOBA!!!! While I have had legit Tex Mex, that is way better, I crave the Dobe much more than any other chain food place. My bf is not a big fan but I drag him there to get my fill of taco bowl salad w/ chicken.

Oh how I try to get off of it... but every time exams roll around...

Aside from all of the coffees, teas, Red Bulls, and No-doze, there are also caffeinated peppermints. I remember back in the engineering days, Penguin mints were popular (3 mints = 1 cup normal brew drip). There are also "Foosh" mints available that were equal to 1 cup espresso. You could suck on one of those and still have enough bladder space to drink plain water or gatorade.

Of course, nothing really beats the taste of coffee if you really like it...

I just have to know... how many cups of coffee do you drink per day? I cannot function without a dose in the morning to get started. Then I need a steady supply throught the day. I have about 4-5 cups per day.

I have about 1.5-2 per day, all before noon. Then I have a Mr. Pibb at lunch and then I'm done for the day with caffeine unless it's an exam week (like right now, on my fourth cup!)

YES! Taco salads all day!

hahah but on the subject of coffee, I don't really like it that much and have successfully resisted the caffeine addiction that plagues my friends (and my teacher who actually gets legit withdrawal symptoms if he goes without it for extended periods of time...)

I do enjoy the occasional cup of tea though.
