I don't usually drink coffee, but I think I'm going to do it before the interview. I think it makes your mind sharper, and be able to communicate better with people (Well, the fact is I don't really know, does it). But I just talked with my other friend about this and he told me not to do it. He said that coffee is only going to make you more nervous. And for people who usually don't drink coffee on a daily basis, they might tremble during the interview, which may seem to be annoying to the interviewer. At this point, I don't really know what to do anymore. Any suggestions?:hardy:

don't do it...you don't want to be tweaked during an interview--what if they throw a n unexpected curve ball? your heart is going to be racing a 100 miles a minute and you're going to freak out

just prepare for your interview beforehand and try and relax the day of

Avoid coffee. All you need is good old fashioned sleep the night before and your mind will be sharp enough.

It could give you coffee breath too. But hey, if it helps you with the interview, then go for it.

I could not not sleep well the day before my very first interview two weeks ago. I have to admit that my body was shaking the whole time and it took me almost two hours for me to doze off... I also could not eat the day before, but for some reason on the day of the interview, I didn't seem too nervous and was perhaps a bit relaxed.

I would say don't do it. I drank coffe the morning of my interview. It took me on a hyped road and I think I talked way too much during the interview. It was bad.

Don't drink coffee before interview. Especially if you're not used to it.

i wouldn't drink coffee, because during my first interview, i was on a adrenaline high, and thats just from anticipation alone.

I know several people who have horrible diahhrea when they drink coffee. One of my friends runs to the bathroom every time when her coffee is too strong, looks pretty hilarious to us but must suck to her.

If you normally do not drink loads of coffee, like us, caffeine addicts, I'd be carefull. :luck:

Don't do it. You'll have enough of an adrenaline rush on your own. You don't want to be all twitchy during your interview from the caffiene + adrenaline.

Coffee does seem to make your mind sharper.. like when you need to study and you keep dozing off. BUT when you're already on edge (from anticipation of an interview), the coffee might do just the opposite. Your thoughts could start racing and then you're screwed.

I took some Melatonin supplements and Benadryl right before my interview, works better than coffee because it calms you down. However, if you're not careful you could start yawning because it induces drowsiness that will kill your interview.

Just follow your usual morning routine and you should be fine. 🙂

I personally would not drink coffee or even an energy drink. It's going to make you more jittery, and I was nervous enough.

Be relaxed and be yourself. Prepare for the interview and try not to sound rehearsed. Let things flow naturally.

Hi Guys, I must admit that I am definately not a coffee lover in any form, however, before my interview i comforted myself with some coffee, and i must attest that it is the most valuable coffee that i ever had.

After less than a week, I received an acceptance letter with an unexpected scholarship package.

Are you a coffee lover now? 😉

mmm..

<----- Caffeine

Its good stuff if you are used to it. But even those of us who drink it all the time are more shaky than would be considered normal when nervous 🙂

The best prep you can do is stick to your normal routine, if coffee isn't part of it, then you could probably pick a better day to try it out.

I say forget the coffee, go with espresso...

and get a box of chocolate covered coffee beans and polish those off too.

You may not get in... but you WILL be unique during the interview. 😉
