Hey guys, I will be starting college in just under two weeks and I would appreciate some advice that will help me with the transition from high school to college. I am majoring in chemistry (at SUNY ESF, unlikely that you have heard of it) and my plan at the moment is to go into dentistry in the future, although it might change. So any studying tips, time management tips, etc. that work/worked for you guys will be appreciated. Thanks!

One thing I would recommend is start looking at the courses that the dental schools you want to go to require. Some may requirement anatomy, biochem etc and it's better to know that now and plan accordingly.

Also, enjoy college but try not to party too much 😛

I highly recommend putting in maximum effort into all of your lower level sciences and math classes that show up on the DAT. For example, you should give it your all in BIO I and II, Gen Chem I and II, Organic Chem I and II, and math classes such as stats. Then take the DAT the summer after Sophomore year (the year you should have just finished all of these courses). That way the information will still be fresh in your head and you can have an easier time scoring high on the DAT. Also try to take upper level bio classes along with your CHEM major specific courses.
