Hi, I'm applying for field placements for next year and I've been thinking about applying to a couple of college counseling centers. I feel like college students have a wide range of issues that I could be exposed to. Anybody have any experience with this population?

Don't we all have experience with college students? I and most of my friends were undergrads at one time, right? Obviously, substance abuse, personality pathology , depression, and serious pathology abound.

Morning!
I don't, two people in my cohort do. One is at our school and another is at different school in the city. They both report seeing a lot of adjustment disorders, disordered eating, depression, and anxiety. They shared that they wish the work was more long term but students often end abruptly, and reasonably so.
I think this will be an excellent opportunity to really delve into therapy and use the evidence based practices that you have been/will learn about. It will also give you the chance to experience brief interventions like CBT, some solutions focused stuff, and more. I say go for it!

Awesome, thanks for your feedback...
