College-level course work taken while in high school count in GPA?

Yes. If by college-level course work you mean course work taken at/through a College (Community, Jr, or otherwise).

I think so. I took a class for dual enrollment (took it in high school but through a local community college) and I was told that I have to send a transcript from that college in along with my transcript from my current university.

I received credit for the classes and grades that are present on my transcript in Uni. But I had not graduated high school yet at that time.

I know that AMCAS has to know about this but do they actually count it in the AMCAS overall GPA??

Now I'm a tad confused. Do you attend the same University for undergrad where you took dual enrollment courses in HS? If so you'll just need to submit the transcript for the university.

If you took dual-enrollment courses during hs and now attend a different university you'll need to submit both transcripts (from the college teaching dual-enrollment and your current uni) when you apply. It's pretty common for applicants to have multiple transcripts (I had 4).

Yes. It was a dual enrollment in my state Uni that I attended later on after HS.

But the question is if it will count in the AMCAS GPA? I heard from another pre-med that it will probably just show up but NOT count in the AMCAS overall GPA. So, I am at this point confused.

Yes, it counts, and it will show up. Since you are attending the same university, you will need only to send that school's transcript to AMCAS. If you did poorly and are concerned about that, AMCAS allows (at least when I applied) you to designate courses as those you took during middle school/high school as such (less penalty, as you were fairly young at the time)...

I always hate the answer to this question. WHY did I take an 8am math class at a community college over the summer during high school? I have no idea what I was thinking, yet I still suffer the .05 drop in gpa on amcas.

Yeah, same here, except I get an automatic .2 reduction from my "real" undergrad GPA. Wish I knew when I was dual-enrolling

Yep, that's why it's always good to do your best even during HS dual-enrollment courses.

I'm on the opposite side, I got a nice +.15 because of easy dual enrollment classes in HS. But they really should advertise the importance a bit more, although at least at my school it was only the serious students who dual enrolled anyway.
