50 y/o man accepts to undergo colon screening but he does not want colonoscopy because he fears perforation....What do you do?

- sigmoidoscopy
- CT
- Annual FOBT

My gut goes with sigmoidoscopy but I guess perforation risk is still there?

Weird question. My gut says annual FOBT since, like you said, risk of perforation is still there with sigmoidoscopy.

3x separate fobt/year has the same sensitivity as a colonoscopy. if he has a positive fobt, he needs to get his butt checked out.
