What do you mean you are on the "second wave" of applicants?
I got a e-mail several months ago saying I would hear from them in february.
That was the last thing I heard from them.

By second wave, I mean the second round of applicants considered because I applied a little later in the cycle.

I would be happier with a rejection from them rather than nothing at this point. (I interviewed in October and havent heard a peep.) I want to start making plans with my life. I have other comments which I will keep to myself.

BTW it seems that their admissions are NOT on a rolling basis.

I don't understand why they don't start sending out acceptances. You'd think they would want their acceptances out to the better applicants so their school has a fair chance of being compared with other schools.

I was also expecting to hear SOMETHING by NOW. Has anyone really been accepted yet? I called Barbara shortly after Dec. 1st and she said that first round acceptances had gone out but, if nobody from SDN received one, I don't know whether to believe it or not...

I know nothing about Colorado accept that they dont take many out-of-state students...they offered me an interview Feb 10th but im not even a WICHE student...my stats are gpa 3.55/sci 3.67 and DAT 22/23/20...Im thinking they wont take me anyway being so late and not WICHE....should I go or save the money

Only go if you would like to go to the school. I think in general, a school won't offer you an interview if they have ruled you out. It's not to say that you are on equal footing w/ everyone else interviewing, but the spot is there if they like you.
I haven't been to a Colorado interview, but from what I understand they hold epic interview sessions with quite a few all going in the same day. If that is the case, then you are not so much being offered the last spot as much as being part of a group that is considered for some spots.
So, I say if Colorado is a better option than a sure thing you have lined up, go for it. If not, who cares what your chances are?

Does anyone know if the second round of letters will go out this week, or if not this week then when???? I too interviewed months ago and so far no word...

does anyone know if they even interview people anymore?!?!?!?!?!🙁

Hello, I interviewed with CU last year in late March in essentially the last interview session of the year. The interview was pretty standard but they were very good about making me comfortable and didn't 'grill' people as far as I know. The interview itself, which was after an informational session, only lasted around 20-30 minutes. However, there is a new dean of admissions and it could be possible that things are a little different. They are certainly still interviewing, and I did also receive the email "Maybe CO" that stated they would be contacting me sometime in mid-February. As a third-time applicant, my best advice to all of you is to make sure your file is complete and then be patient🙂 Good luck to you all, CU is a great school with fantastic professors.

did you interview at CU the previous two years? this late again? is this their standard procedure? make people wait until they cry?🙁

What was the "Maybe CO" email all about? I interviewed in Oct. and haven't heard a peep since then. Nothing. No email. No letters. No phone calls.

The "Maybe CO" e-mail pretty much said

Initial review of your application indicates that further review and reassessment will occur when the following items have been submitted:
-Submit This Stuff

We will be in contact with you regarding your status as the admission cycle progresses approximately mid February, 2007

I got this back in October, and haven't heard anything since.

Just got a phone call saying I'm accepted at Colorado!

Congrats!

When did you interview?
and are you from Colorado?

i thought not many out of state got accepted..?
hmm. i just still hope they arent interviewing now for waitlist...

Wow, talk about feeling depressed. I'm in-state and would love to know if anyone got in that's in-state on this forum? I talked with the school this morning and apparently right now they're on a "rolling admissions". I'm hating CU right now.

I am sorry I have to ask...what is "rolling admissions"? I will be applying to CU for the 2008 cycle and would like to be prepaired for whatever they send my way...

It means they give them out over time, not all at once.

damn. i am also in state. did they say they are still interviewing or is the class full? i am calling tomorrow too.

I also got in on Feb 1. Hey Icy, can you believe that?! LOL  Anyway girl, I can't remember if Colorado is your #1 choice. If it is, then I have a spot for you...

No flippin' way, drawer!!! Did they send you a letter or call you?? I loved Nebraska the best so it's Colorado's loss. They were soo rude to you, why would you ever go there?? Nice that they overlooked your "shotgun" approach, huh - what a bunch of nerdos.

Yeah, I'm also in-state and don't know of any other in-staters who have been accepted ... wierdness...

Check the interview feedback. It's the one from October with the frowny face.

so i called CU today. they said they will be re-evaluating applications in a couple more weeks?

what does this mean? probably not a good sign though..has anyone else not heard from them in a LONG time? 🙁

Not a peep since Oct. 16th which was the first round of interviews. I'm still wondering if they've accepted any in-state students yet. Not that I care anymore, but it's annoying waiting around so long especially when six applicants I know personally from Colorado haven't heard a thing either. However, my best friend two years ago, interviewed in November and didn't receive an acceptance until the end of February so, who knows... maybe soon.

Maybe.

Since the funding for Colorado schools SUCKS. They need to fill the class with out of state students so they can charge them like 4x as much, and make sure they have enough money so we can pay less because we are instate.
Thats what I think.
But we will find out in a week or so if we are one of the lucky ones to get a instate interview.

that's not true. a lot of the applicants are are accepted are typically wiche certified meaning that their qualified to possibly recieve the funding so their tuition is just like those instates. I believe most of the accepted out of state applicants are wiche states if that helps.

I was just trying to make the situation funny.

I am in state from CSU, haven't heard anything either. 🙁 Don't give up hope though. Be patient!

hi there, i went to csu for a year too! but wanted to say hi to another in-stater..are you still going there? or did you graduate already..i know a few others from csu that havent heard anything either. crazy... i havent heard anything since that email back a while ago.

can i ask what your stats are like though? ..

I have a feeling this waiting game isn't anything new...

My dentist said he was on the wait list and didn't hear anything from CU until just a few days before the school year started. He called and bugged them and didn't get an answer. So he went to Marquette for a year and transferred to CU his sophomore year.

I don't know why they do this...maybe to "test" how loyal applicants are?

Went to CSU graduated with Microbiology as the major, Biomedical Sciences as the minor. Researched at the AIDL for 2 years, published in the Journal of Virology, 3.9 overall G.P.A., 24 AA on DAT....but 17 on the PAT. When I sent my application in, I had very few hours of experience "shadowing" a Dentist, but 1 week after submitting, I got a full time job in a dental office...should I let the office of admissions know, because I haven't heard from them in a REALLY long time....no interview yet....don't really know what's going on?? Some advice? Thanks! 🙂
