Coloring inside the lines?

This question is for you male surgeons, primarily because I don't ever recall girls having trouble with this.

In kindergarten, could you guys color inside the lines? I can't draw or write for **** but have pretty good fine motor control and a steady hand. I tried to trace a line around a figure in class today and couldn't quite do it straight...will this translate to a scalpel? Hopefully I'm not being neurotic because its not a real big deal, I'm just curious.

Based on the photo you've provided, you will be a ridiculously good surgeon....probably the best in the whole county. (That, or a good first grade teacher)

You, my good person, are a cheater! The photo shows the use of a colored pencil, the much easier to use cousin of the crayon. Don't try to pass your colored pencil work off as that by a crayon, my friend; those of us in the know will make sure you burn for it...😡

Why are you sitting around watching girls color pictures? Unless these are hot women who are scantily clad or naked, you're wasting your time. Why don't you go play some video games to improve your hand-eye coordination, instead?

Thats now what I'm asking; I was just wondering if you guys who have good enough hand-eye coordination (ie enough to surgerize) could actually color/trace/write well or if those two skill sets are completely unrelated.

Im not terribly worried about a potential future in surgery, I was just bored at the library last night.

What does "surgerize" mean? Is that when you do surgery only with a bovie and nothing else? 😉

Actually to "surgerize" someone is a fairly common phrase in surgery.

It is a common phrase, but it grates on my nerves nonetheless. I know what it refers to, but it barely makes sense as a word.

It's also common to hear people say "I could care less," when they mean the exact opposite. It's common to hear people say, "It's quite bemusing," when they really mean that something is mildly entertaining. They're common, but barely make sense, and I find it irritating.

Sorry...had to vent for a minute....😳

I understand but IMHO people use the term surgerize to be funny, not because they think its a real word. I agree its irritating when people use terms incorrectly.

Look at the way that person is holding the colored pencil. I see a lot of people who write like that and I wonder where they learned that. It's like they couldn't pick up how to hold a pencil so their parents were just like, "here, sweetie, make a fist and I'll just jam the pencil in there for you."

This is true story: When I was in medical school, on my surgery rotation, one time my Chief goes, "hey, come with me, we're going to talk to Ortho about one of our patients." So we go over to their call room and my Chief talks with them for a while. Then they're done with business and they're just shooting the breeze. My Chief goes, "oh, hey, this is one of the medical studs" and introduces me. The Ortho guy is sitting at a desk and he looks at me for a few seconds. Then he kicks open a drawer from the desk and there's like 500 porno magazines and he's like, "here, take a look at some of this." It was the most hilarious thing ever.
