I am in the third tier (read: rejection) 🙁
I originally applied to CU as an MSTP applicant and am still on the alternate list for interview with them, I am wondering if this hurt my chances for the MD program? I have to admit I was a bit surprised to end up down in the third tier at my state school (stats are totally in line with the school's avgs), CU Boulder undergrad, etc. Aside from the fact that I had near total laryngitis the day of my interview, I thought it went well, whatever! It is the way of things. I have heard that CU undergrads don't always have the best luck with UCHSC...so I can always use that as an excuse 😉
Oh yeah, one more thing I have lived out of state since Sept 2001, and would have had to appeal for residency status had I been accepted...perhaps this was a good excuse to throw me in the third tier.
I only applied to 2 schools this year (don't ask) and am waitlisted for UCSD's MSTP program, so I am not out of the game yet...but I may start working on my AMCAS essay this weekend, what fun!
Seriously, good luck to all. I hope you get in even if I don't, Go Buffs! 🙂
