A quick background:

I submitted my secondary Nov 13th or 14th (don’t remember); my LORs were sent a few weeks earlier
It was emailed as complete/ready on Dec 6

Since then, no interview request/rejection.

I emailed and got a response on Jan 16 that:

"Your application is still under review by the MD/PhD Committee. You can
expect to hear from us anytime between now and the end of February."

I emailed again today.

Two questions,

1. How do they normally indicate a post-second. pre-interview rejection? Email? Snailmail?
2. Is this normal and they just don't tell at all that you that you didn’t make the interview cut?

I also appreciate general thoughts. Thanks!

i guess they just don't want to reject over the phone or something... :( sowwie.

Nevermind, I got in touch with Patrice (director). In brief: REJECTED :p

They did the same thing to my brother when he applied. He submitted his app, didn't receive a single correspondence from them, and eventually was accepted to another MSTP. Then, about a month after he decided to go to the other MSTP, he got a brochure from Columbia about their nutrition program  . Still no response about his MSTP app!

But, hell, that's the Columbia way, trust me. :)
