Hi Peeps,

I know this question has been answered a billion times in the pre-allo forum. But they seemed to suggest there that you don't need to send your transcript unless you are a dual degree (i.e. MSTP) applicant. For those of you who applied to Columbia this year, do you guys have any official word on this? Did you all send your transcripts for the MSTP app?
Thanks a lot

I sent in all my transcripts. It seems to imply that they want them. Not sure on this exactly, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to send them in (other than the 5-10 bucks they cost).

Thanks... I guess I will do that too. I just have to manage to go to both my schools sometime in the middle of 10-hr work days and secondary applications 😉
Any one else know anything about this? any official words?

I didn't send in a transcript to Columbia. I never remember being prompted for this. If anyone finds any Columbia-official word, please post. Thanks.

This is what I got from their application instructions:

"When you apply to us, please ask the registrar of your college to send us an official version of your
current transcript. If you have taken required courses at another college or received any type of
degree from another college, please request official transcripts to be sent to us. Our offers of
admission will be contingent on receipt of an official copy of your final undergraduate transcript (as
well as copies of transcripts from advanced degrees). Our need for these documents stems in large
part from the fact that when you graduate from P&S, we will be the primary source of information
about your academic credentials."

It sounds like they only need it when they begin to offer acceptances, so maybe there is no rush on sending it. I went ahead and had my transcripts sent though, just to be safe.

good luck!
