I've been admitted by MPH program in both Columbia and UCLA(epi), and I'd have to make a choice between them. Please give me some advice. Which school provides better internship and job opportunities? Which school provides better research environment? (I majored biology in undergraduate study, and I'm quite interested in infectious disease epi).

Besides, I'm an international student and I'm also worrying about the expenses. Which school costs more? I haven't got any financial aid, is there any chance that I could apply for finanacial aid after enrollment?

thx all~~~

I applied to both schools, but didn't get into columbia, and am waiting on UCLA. Columbia is quite expensive, but has a very solid program, and if you just look over the faculty, you'll quickly see that they do a lot of infectious disease stuff. I emailed a few faculty when I was applying, and they all seemed willing to allow an mph student to join their research.

One thing to consider about UCLA is that you gain residency after one year and no longer have to pay out-of-state fees (as far as I know - doublecheck with admissions. I know it's true of Berkeley). Not sure if the same is true for Columbia.
