I'm a little unsure about the AMCAS for MSTP applicants. When selecting a school to apply to under MD/PhD, should you pick all the degree areas that you think you might be interested in? or should you only select one degree? I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere. I called a few schools up about this and they either said it was ok to pick more than one or that they didn't know. Any advice?

Thanks

First bit of advice: don't start the same topic in multiple forums.

Just FYI...starting the same topic/thread in multiple forums is against the SDN terms of service. Your best best is probably to keep that sort of question to this forum, since many MD/PhD applicants and students read these threads.

If you want to apply MD/PhD, it's not that important which PhD areas you select at most schools. They usually just want to see which general scientific area you might like to study for your PhD so that they can match you to a particular group of faculty during interviews. So select one or a few that you're interested in; don't feel like you're bound by that choice. If a particular school wants to know exactly what your research plans are, they will ask again on their own secondary.
