So, after looking at the ADA guide as to how AA is calculated, it got me thinking.

So AA is the average of all non-PAT sections. And does not consider TS. As well, the difference between a 29/30 and 30/30 on chem and ochem is as much as 5 points.

Would it not be better to spend more time on genchem and ochem and leave biology last, even if you do not have enough time to finish it? Aim to get a 30. If you do, your AA will be boosted significantly higher than if you got 2 more correct in biology, lets say 37/30 as opposed to 35/30 (since it will be only +1 or +2 to biology section) compared to if you spend more time in chemistry and get that +5 going from 29/30 to 30/30?

So basically, you are sacrificing a point in TS for a higher AA, which is more important, right?

I have heard people running out of time on the chemistries too, so....

My thinking is that you should always start with the chemistries and leave Bio until last. Thoughts?

Sure, but they can see your breakdown and will notice if you did average and killed 1 section. Most ppl will play it safe and try to cover all of their bases.

But yes, if you feel your scores are reaching a plateu and are comfortable with them, spending more time in gc and oc could pay off more than bio due to "randomness" of bio.

I didn't really kill any of the sections, and felt comfortable with my overall performance.

Yes, cover all the bases.

There's no hidden trick to getting high AA.. You just have to do your best and I am sure you will do fine.

Real DAT science sections are much much easier than any other practice tests, I thought.

If you are adequately ready to be able to score 25+ in all science sections, you should be able to finish with at least 30 minutes to look over.

When are you taking your exam? :luck:

next saturday.

Still need to work on math and read up on biology.

Haven't really prepared for PAT or RC aside from doing a few achiever/topscores

Why not just aim for a 30 in all sections?

So say you intentionally bombed Bio to try to get a 30 in the other sections...what happens if you don't get that 30? one wrong and youre down to a 25-26 and now youre even more screwed. Getting a 22 is easy, getting a 30 is much harder and takes a lot of luck.

The DAT is really not that tough...its a very simple exam that tests very broad subjects and doesnt go very in depth at all.
