Just wanted to ask a few questions on the COMLEX 2 Format, I've been doing COMBANK and see a few trends that I want to know if they are represented on the actual test.

Is there a lot of Series Questions (2-5 Questions) on the actual Exam, where Q1 makes you make a Diagnosis and the next questions follow up with Treatment/Risk Factors ect?
- I find that COMBANK has MANY of these, Id say 30-50% of a question set of 50 questions will be
in this style. I ask because with so many of those questions I find that my average time per
question is really low, If Im sure on the Diagnosis I can answer the next few questions quickly. I
just don't want to get burned on test day with very few Series Questions and having to read 50
separate Vignettes in each section.

Also with Questions in Series, I find that sometimes if I was rocky on Q1 in the Dx I find that another follow up question makes me go back and change my Dx in Q1.
Q) In Series Questions can you go back to questions or do they lock out the ability to for that Set?

Dont know, as I haven't taken it yet, but I would like to know as well. COMBANK has a ton of them, and its pretty annoying

Can't say for sure either as I haven't taken it yet but if its anything like comlex 1 (which I'll just assume it is), even if you do have to read 50 separate vignettes you will still have more than enough time. As for your second question, I thought I remembered a few series questions on comlex 1 where you could go back and change your first answer if you wanted. Now whether or not you should go back and change your answer is another subject (unless the 2nd question just makes it super obvious you were wrong which shouldn't happen on standardized tests but I wouldn't be surprised if the comlex did just that).

So Just took my Exam Today and here is what I can say.

You can go back and change answers to Questions in Series. I never had a Question series more than 2-3 on the whole test meaning, Q1= Dx then follow up questions. I had a few 2-3/4 series that just used the Same Answers Choices for the Questions.

The series questions for me where at the end of Every Block, I had 2/3 Blocks of my last 15 questions being a handful of Series Questions.

Time wise was not a factor, I had plenty of time left that I even slowed down and reviewed questions more than I had on my Qbank and Overall I feel fine with my pacing and time spent on each question.

I did 86% of COMBANK and had a 66% on 2350 questions Timed without looking up answers, we will see if that was good enough to have Passed.

I will say I was disappointed to have 8-10 questions on the whole exam about the Names of Organizations that regulate things, Such Low Yield and not worth my time but to have that many on the whole test was Meh.

Hoping scores come back sooner than later!

Typically the COMLEX will have 50% single items and 45% series and 5% matching. The number varies from block to block.

I would recommend against going back to change a diagnosis unless it is very clear what the correct answer is. Usually the series you're referring to will have part 1 being the most likely diagnosis and part 2 being the work-up (or vise versa). Each answer choice option correlates to a diagnosis/test from part to part. Do NOT take any additional history/physical exam findings into account in part 1 if presented as new in part 2. For example, if in the question stem of part 2 the patient now has a positive test result, it still does not necessarily mean that the part 1 diagnosis relates to this because it was not encountered for the first item. However, if in part 2 you're provided with more diagnostic options as answer choices and this reminds you 'hey, didn't think of ___ before' then you should consider changing your answer.
