In general what would you say a good COMLEX I score would be for the various types of residencies there are.

Here's what I've been hearing.

For DO residencies and some MD residencies
Family, psych - just pass
OB, IM, Peds - Above 530
Gen Surg - above 560
Surgical tracts - most above 600
Anesthesiology - above 600
Rads - above 620
Derm - above 630

Any corrections?

HAHAHAHAHAHHA For Derm you'll need a score of 2,000,000.

Q, DO

Where did you get these numbers from?

For allopathic RADS, the COMLEX is irrelevant. You need the USMLE.

One of our grads did his Rad residency @ Albany Med (allopathic program) and is now doing his interventional rad fellowship @ Yale-New Haven AND ONLY TOOK THE COMLEX......of course, not the norm but it's not impossible either.

I was under the impression that IM and Peds also qualified under the "just pass" category. I may be wrong though.

i am sure that there are other factors other than just comlex scores. it also depends on who you know too....

You looking at the hospitals here in Hawaii, or on the mainland?
