I took the 200 question test from NBOME this morning - the one that costs $8 and consists of old test items.

Has anyone else taken this test and the COMLEX? Does anyone know how it compares to the real exam?

I scored a 64.5%. Is that okay or should I be scared? I take the COMLEX on Saturday.

That is about what i'm scoring on Kaplan Q- bank. I was nervous about it too. But Kaplan says that if you are scoring 70% on their Q's then you are well above the mean (take that with a grain of salt). I almost want to stop doing Q's because I don't want to discourage myself at this point. I am taking it on Sat. also.

Aren't those Q's from 2001?

Yeah, I think so, which is why I thought that they probably aren't that good of a representation. They do hit a lot of neuro and drugs though, which is what people who have taken the COMLEX recently have said was stressed.

I took these practice items yesterday and scored 158/200 (79%), 2 days away from my exam. There are definitely some twisted questions in the group, but whatever the score it's still important to get a feel for the style. I sure wouldn't want to have seen this style of exam for the first time on test day. Qbanks and the USMLE spoil you with very polished questions and classic presentations.

Wow, I was afraid of this. I've been doing a lot of questions from a lot of different sources. But, I've mainly been using the QBanks. I haven't taken the practice NBOME test yet, though. I've heard that the COMLEX questions are often tough to decipher.

Everyone from my school that Ive talked to that has taken both says, the COMLEX is a pleasant surprise when compared to the USMLE.

I know this is a blast from the past, but I was curious if anyone else is using these questions this year, or if any of last year's test takers had any feedback on how similar they are to today's comlex. (They're from 2001; I'm not even sure if they're still available from the NBOME.)

Anyway, I just got done the 200 questions and there were definitely some odd balls in there for me...I ended up with 158/200 - 79%. Basically a useless number since I have no way to convert into any semblance of a COMLEX score. Oh well...

look up beastmaster's score(same as yours). He did well on both COMLEX and USMLE. Can't comment on correlation but that is a good score.
