I don't believe this post has been done in recent times on the forum, and I wanted to get some specific advice for my case. I just got my COMLEX Level 1 score back today, it was a 524. I was originally aiming for Dermatology and a 600, but I think I can safely say that this is out of my reach now.
1. what are RECENT guidelines for specialties and the average / safe bet COMLEX Level 1 scores to get interest from programs?
2. I'm also planning to take the USMLE Step 1 in a week, and I'm praying that those results come out well. If I get say a 230, will that compensate for the COMLEX score and allow me to seriously consider more competitive specialties?
