I am like most people in this forum, a FTD. I am confused as to how the AEGD/GPR programs function,
  • how hard is it to get into them,
  • what happens after the pogram, what kind of jobs are there,
  • what are the prospects after the course.
  • If these programs often do not have a fee and also if we do get liscence to practice in some states, then why is it not a popular option with foreign trained dentists.
👍Please help me understand how this works.
Thanks

They are relatively easy to get into, however, they are not the best route for license, very few states will grant you a license without a dental degree from an accredited school, and none of these programs can grant you that. They are more suited for those who already hold a dental degree, specially new graduates, and want to spend a year or two to learn more skills and advanced general techniques, etc. I hope that helps.
