so, could someone please tell me why programs don't/won't advertise their interview dates in advance?
i mean, how hard would it be for Harvard (or Hopkins, or anyone else) just to tell us "these are the dates we plan on interviewing people"... they could post it online, or send a form letter to everyone that applied to them...
really, it'd save a lot of aggravation, rescheduling, and $$$$ (so you could bundle east coast or west coast trips). i see no good reason why not to....

This process can be described in one word: byzantine.
 
ill post the dates tomorrow for harvard. I think in some cases decisions are made later (has beent he case with JHH before). otheriwse I think the comment about common sence is probably at the bottom line of it. I agree with you.
