When I was in highschool, I participiated in a program that allowed me to have a shorter highschool day and attend community college classes. I took a pre-calculus course and got a B. I would rather not include this B in my coursework because I have a 3.87 GPA and it will bring it down. As a result, I never submitted transcripts from the community college to my undergrad institution. I just pretended I never went to the community college, especially because I don't need the class for any requirements for my degree. Can I keep ignoring that course from the community college on my dental applications? The app says "all college work," etc, but can I just consider that class an enrichment to my highschool work - thus not included? Will they be able to find out that I attended that community college?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I like my GPA the way it is and don't want that stupid highschool work to come back and bite me. : ) But at the same time - I don't want to look dishonest to dental schools should they be able to somehow find out I was once enrolled in a CC, even if if was during highschool.

Thanks guys!

It's possible they could find out. There was a thread last year debating whether a school could run some sort of check the way credit checks are run and pull up all institutions you attended. I think they concluded that it was not the case. And because schools are not going to send detexctives out to investigate every student I think they wouldn't find out.

However they do want all the colleges, adn to play by the rules one should put it down. There may be a case against it if the credit earned was used for your high school graduation requirement. Because in a way it would be like part of your high schooling, and maybe considered linked to that program.

i don't think they will figure it out but it's wise to list it!just in case!

You're talking about a "B" here, there's not much damage a "B" could do when you have a lot of credits. Don't risk it and just list it...lol...I just rhymed...

Thanks guys. You're right - Honesty is always the best policy. : ) Also, thanks for the reality check that a .01-something change in my GPA isn't a big deal. ; )

jigabodo- my school is not included in the nationalhouse thing...how come?!
