On the Tufts website it says, "Community college coursework will not be accepted."

Does anyone know if they ever make an exception to this rule? Also, do you know of any other schools similar to Tufts in the fact that they don't care for CC classes?

A lot of schools don't like CC credit -- especially on the prereqs. Tufts, however, is strict and I have heard of people only finding out at an interview that the intro bio course they took at such and such CC exempts them from admission unless they retake it at a four year school before matriculating. Call Tufts on this one -- they're ruthless.

Thanks Mack. Yeah, I left a message for them, so we'll see.

What they told me is that you can't get around CC prereqs just by retaking a class at a University. You have to take additional courses in the same subject of a more advanced level. So, my gen chem CC credits disqualify me.

I asked about Ochem being higher in the chem dept. and they said they differentiate between inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry so I would have to take Advanced inorganic chemistry to be eligible. 😡
