I took 1 bio and 1 physics class at my community college, got A's in both, and I'm planning on taking the bio and physics series at Berkeley after transfer...will these courses be counted in my science GPA?

If these courses are transferable to UC, they will be counted toward your science GPA.

Yes, it'll be science courses...and wh garbage - you saved some bucks for application fees so you may appreciate that 😉

thnx...curious, how did going to cc save me $$ on my application fee

In Sproul Hall, in an admin building (I know that doesn't narrow it down much but its been like a decade since I've been there) there is a big book that lists Berkeley equivalents to CC courses from DVC and Solano (assuming you went to one of those) If it's in there, you are OK.

I know that the general consensus is that you should take all pre-reqs from a 4 year but I in fact did the exact opposite taking 100% of my pre-reqs from a CC. I didn't know any better at the time. I got a few invites and accepted into my #1, UCSF, so it worked out for me.

Don't sweat a few classes @ a CC

I think they just meant because you're not paying excessive University tuition you saved some money--which you can later put towards applications 👍

Besides, it helps your AADSAS tremendously (if you get A's that is)
