Community counseling Vs. Clinical Mantal Health Counseling

Hallo,

I need to make a decision pretty quickly on whether to pursue a an MA in community couseling or MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I was supposed to graduate this August with the 48 credit community counseling option, but my school has started a 60 credit hour clinical mental health counseling. I would need to take 4 additional classes. Does anyone know if clinical mental health is more marketable? I'm also thinking about the portability issues from state to state since most states are going to the 60 credit hour option.

Clinical tends to sound better though I'm not sure whether it makes a large difference at the Masters level. You may want to look into salary data and state laws. Overall though, the lines between counseling and clinical are more blurred than they used to be. There is great overlap in the issues and treatment clinical practitioners and counselors deal with.
