i dedicate my entire sunday at a youth group at my church... i've been told that med schools don't take religion related community service as seriously because they feel that you feel compelled to do it and that you're not doing it because you're good hearted... anyone ever hear that before? or does it not matter at all where your community service comes from?

I think as long as you learned something from your volunteering experience and you did a good deed, it doesn't matter where you did your community service. And I've never heard of AdComs discounting religous activites. Volunteering is volunteering. But out of curiosity, have you done any other volunteer work? Or has all of it been with your church group?

nope i haven't done any other volunteer work... i've been doing this for all of undergrad, dedicating pretty much my entire sunday to it... i would pick up something else but i just don't have the time... besides from what i heard it's fewer EC's with a high degree of dedication that's better than a boatload with little dedication...
