I was wondering if anyone is currently commuting to NYCOM everyday. I currently live in park slope, brooklyn and would love to not have to move. It is about an hour ride on the LIRR to get to campus. Is this realistic? Has anyone else tried this? I am just nervous about being late for tests or not attending all classes because I will likely not always want to make the trip.
Any comments?

I know someone who did this, and it was very difficult. Remember, first you have to get to the station in Brooklyn, then you need to find a way to get from the Westbury station to the campus. It's too far to walk, and public transportation or cabs are a pain.

Although taking the train is doable, I would recommend getting a car if you can (I know parking in Park Slope is not fun). I drove from Brooklyn every day for two years (about 70 miles round trip). Depending on when I left, traffic could be a nightmare, but I usually worked ok.

Any body commute to nycom from eastern Long island? I live in the Port Jeff area close to exit 63 on the LIE. I want to know what i am getting myself into next year.

Damn that sux. I live in Flushing Queens. Its about 20 min from my house with no traffic to NYCOM. A little over 13 miles. Actually, where I live is close to just about everywhere, each of the boroughs, major airports, trains, buses, and LI and Manhattan. Gotta love it. 👍 😍

I know few people who commute from all places named above. They is sucks but doable.

I commuted to Stony Brook, from Queens for 4.5 years, 110 miles everyday. Hard but doable. I plan to do the same while attending NYCOM. It is only 15-18 miles each way, so should be an easier commute.
Sure carpooling would be a good idea, if it works out.
Good luck guys.
