Hi all. I was just wondering what everyone's opinions were on whether commuting (45 min. to an hour) is at all realistic during med. school and or residency. I know it wouldn't be ideal, but just wondered if it was feasible or if anyone out there has any experience with it. Thanks!

great question...i'm wondering the *exact* same thing. if i get into the school i am hoping to get into, i have a place to stay which is about the same distance away but am worrying that it will be too far! any insight from SDNers on this?

I plan to do that. I'll be getting up earlier and making it home later than others in my class, but people have such commutes (and longer) to work so I think it will work out.

My concern is in 3d-4th year when I might be working in a hospital even further away (i.e. on the other side of school from my home).

This is definitely the wrong forum for this question... Move it to the allo forum to get some responses from current med students...
