Hi all, I created a spreadsheet in which you enter your GRE scores on the first tab, then have them calculated against the median GRE scores for 100 APA-accredited clinical psych Ph.D. programs on the next tab. Similar to what the Insider's Guide does, this gives you a feel for which schools are realistic to apply to.

You'll notice scores are missing from some schools-- that's because they weren't in my original source for this information. The spreadsheet is freely editable by all-- you may add or update data as you like. Please do so. Also, feel free to add rows for other schools-- this is just a list I was working from for my own program research.

P.S. If others are viewing/using at the same time it may work best to just download it.

No problem! If you feel like hunting for the missing GRE scores for those schools, go for it-- a lot of that info is on the program websites, I just haven't tracked it down yet.

Even more useful than median scores would be minimum scores, for the schools that have such. Then you would know for sure if it was a waste of time applying somewhere. As I said, anyone is welcome to add to this spreadsheet, including new columns with that info.

One suggestion I might make (and I don't know much about googledocs) but maybe some conditional formatting would help make seeing good matches in the final column easier. Seeing greens and reds and yellows or something like that might make it even more useful than it is.

I totally agree, and that appears to be a limitation of Google Docs. Your best bet is downloading and adding conditional formatting yourself.

The only school I recall seeing that listed their score range is Suffolk.

What was your original source of information? I'm assuming just on programs websites. That's pretty impressive that you took the time to find all this information that is sometimes buried on the programs website.

Well Here's a link to a spreadsheet I made based off of Bsomerville's original one. I added in a GPA, Psych GPA (when applicable), and Research/Clinical Experience criteria.

The directions are the same as his, just enter in all the information to get the best results.

Known Bugs:
1. For some reason schools without a research/clinical ranking has an output differential of +100 to your total score.
2. A lot of schools are in the positive, I need to weight the Research/Clinical Experience in some manner (Any suggestions appreciated).

Feel free to tell me what you think would be a nice feature to have in the spreadsheet and I'll try my best to make it happen.

Just a disclaimer: I did mine, and I had a -1,340 for the program that I was first pick at. Just saying... Don't let this discourage you AT all or make you choose not to apply to a program because you are afraid you won't get in.
