Hi there
Can anyone weigh in on these programs: St. Christophers vs. UMass vs. UConn?
Here are my thoughts:
I have this feeling that St. Chris will give me a slightly better education and it's in a better city. However, it's so isolated in it's own little peds bubble, the residents are TOO sweet and nice, I hear there is a lot of turnover in services like PICU and Cardiology, plus I got the feeling that the residents/faculty had a chip on their shoulder about being so close to CHOP.
UMass has the most homey, welcoming atmosphere I have seen, but the program is small, the subspecialty fields are small, and Worcester is Worcester.
UConn has a great PD, the hospital is nice, and subspecialties seem well-represented but I heard rumors that they let go 4 of their residents last year and are thinking about letting 1 go this year. And Hartfort is small.
Can someone help me think this through? Thanks!
