Ok so I just had my first exam of med school. I marked to review 40% of the questions in this 4 hour exam (anatomy/histo/embryo midterm). I genuinely was making educated guesses on all these questions (by elimination/instinct/how many A choices I had in a row etc etc).I had a couple friends who made high As on every test say who would say things like, "omg I'm sooo behind this block" or "that test was so hard! I was guessing on half the questions!" I would just tell them how much I hated them, and that I hoped bad things happened to their children someday.
I ended up passing fairly comfortably despite not being confident on almost half the material.
There’s definitely something to be said about test taking intuition/strategies vs literally being 100% confident on 90% of the question
