Anybody else use these? What are your thoughts?

Novel in that it allows you to transduce a pressure continuously, including during guidewire placement, whereas using sterile tubing/hooking up to a transducer prior to guidewire placement does not.

My biggest gripe with these is that it adds to the overall length of your needle/syringe and is a little awkward to handle. Occasionally I have had difficulty passing a guidewire through the guidewire port on the Compass and have had to take off the Compass altogether which obviously defeats the purpose of the device.

I don't see the added benefit outweighing the cost.

A 1.7% inadvertent arterial puncture rate with ultrasound guidance is OBSCENELY high even with trainees.

I disagree. I can imagine a person new to ultrasound sticking the artery 20% of the time. Most people, even avid US users, never see the needle on US. They just see the tissue being pushed down.
