Hi all, I was wondering if anyone out there has had compatibility issues with Macs in medical school. I'm looking for laptops right now and I am undecided as to whether I would get a Mac or PC. Are there specialized software and applications that med students would use? I would rather not have to use virtual PC for Macs (too slow). Thanks.

I have a Mac, and I love it. I havvn't run into a compatibility issues so far, other than 1 cd-rom that was included in a histology atlas I bought. I had to use Virtual PC for that, but it really wasn't a big deal. Every other cd-rom I got worked.
So far, I am 110% satified with my computer. (15" Powerbook G4)

I love my iBook too!! I haven't had any issues, however before I bought mine I checked with the school to make sure their software and programs were Mac-compatible. I know some schools have PC-only software. It can save you time and hassle to check with the med school people first
