Does anyone know what the general competitiveness of AEGD/GPR programs is like? I mean stats, gpa, class rank, extracurriculars, etc. I'm just curious because I would really like to do one, but don't know if my grades will be sufficient to get in; my gpa was hurt pretty bad my first quarter. I've been bringing it up since then, but it still, it is lower than I want it to be. I'm in my second year at Ohio State right now. Any advice would be appreciated.

REALLY depends on the AEGD/GPR you are specifically interested in. Just like anything, some are more competitive than others. Statistically speaking, every year there are around 200 unfilled positions nationwide, so there is alway somewhere to go if you want to. http://www.natmatch.com/dentres/stats/2012sumstats.html

Thanks for the link to that website. And, I know it depends a lot on the program chosen. I appreciate your response.

bump. Can someone explain the graphs on this. They are worlds different than what i have previously heard about AEGD/GPR programs.

specifically the one on GPR, page 46 Figure 13a. apparently in 2011 5409 people applied to GPR and 609 enrolled? whats not adding up. Are they adding up each individual application a person sends out (ex: i send an app to 8 schools so that counts as 8 apps)
