Hey y'all,

I know there are several threads about how competitive the NHSC and HPSP are, but a majority of them are old. I am thinking about applying for one of these programs in the future, and I am wondering what stats, activities, etc. I would need to be considered competitive for these programs. I've heard that both of them have gotten very competitive in recent years. Also, should I post a thread in the Dental forum as well to see what others think?

Thanks!

I agree with @Scumbag_Steve - I would say that NHSC is way more competitive than military.

That said, military is also very competitive in its own right. I know at least 3 SDNers with GPA > 3.7 and DAT > 21AA who were turned down for the Army, which is the "easiest" scholarship to get since it has the most scholarships available.

Did they at least get into the other branches?
