When filling out PharmCAS extracurricular and work experience sections, did you/are you planning to use complete sentences (ex. I was a member) or is it sufficient to just say "a member"??

Thanks~!

if i recall correctly, i just used "a member". i thought it would be weird to say "I was a part of ___ society for 2 years. I was a member of ____ club for 2 years". It just makes more sense to list it:
-So and So Club, 3 years, member
-So and So Org., 4 years, president
etc...

I didn't always use complete sentences in my descriptions. For example, I said something like this for my hospital volunteer position:

Interviewed patients about quality of care during hospital stay.

That's an incomplete sentence that doesn't sacrifice information. Since PharmCAS only allows few characters for the description, and you don't want to bore adcoms with verbose descriptions, this style worked for me. If I did have extra space, however, I did complete sentences like the one above.

like the others, i used incomplete sentences simply because i wanted to list all the highlights in the small space they provided...i think the main thing is to remain consistent with all of your descriptions so that they are easy to read and follow. i chose to list the position title (volunteer, member, president, etc.) followed by a colon and short phrases or describing words that gave the adcoms a clear idea of my responsibilities, roles, duties, etc. i composed all of my little write-ups on word then just pasted it into pharmcas...that was easier for me...oh yeah, check and recheck and have someone else look over your work...you hate to be judged on typos! good luck with your application!
