My gpa is a 3.57 cum, 3.48 sci, but a 21N mcat. Would it help to send a letter of intent to all my schools explaining my low mcat score and 1 letter of intent to my top choice even though I havent gotten any interview invites so far?

I think the earliest I can is January and I dont even know if its worth it, since it would be a really late application update.

No, next mcat isn't until Jan.

OP-I think it's a bit premature to be sending letters of intent. Especially since you haven't interviewed anywhere yet. My feeling on letters of intent is that you've thoroughly looked at a school (interview or visit, plus lots of research & questions) and know for sure that's the school you'd want to attend.

Maybe in a couple weeks send letters of interest, with updates if possible, since a lot of people with multiple acceptances will have to pay their deposits by Dec 14. More interview invites may go out.

I know its not what you want to hear, but you are pretty darn late in the cycle, and unfortunately you MCAT is low (and this year is perhaps the most competitive year ever to get into DO schools).

My advice would be to study your ass off, retake the MCAT, build up your app/EC's and concentrate on next year.

Unfortunately, this may be true. But since the OP is already complete, there would be no harm in sending letters of interest after a reasonable amount of time. I just think now is too soon because really, Oct 20th was not that long ago.

also since you're already complete you could take the jan mcat and if you rock it you might still get in. That way even if you don't get in this year you've got a better score for 2012...and if you don't get a better score you still have lots of time to re-write again before the next cycle.
