I am assuming this is school dependent: Does anyone know whether or not once you've been accepted, whether you absolutely must complete all the school requirements even if they haven't mentioned if I am lacking anything (ie. this particular school does not accept AP credits and therefore I might need to take an online writing class). Basically, I am worried that if I do nothing and act as if I did not know, they would find out mid-first year and either have me finish the course (on top of taking all the M1 courses) or threaten expulsion. Any light on this topic would be beneficial! Thank you 🙂

They will verify before you start school - Better call them and see if you can use an online course or take a class spring term.
I've never heard of them having you take it during med school!

You would not be allowed to matriculate.

It's your responsibility to make sure that you complete the pre-reqs prior to that.

I am sometimes wonder how the supposedly best and the brightest, the premeds, can somehow delude themselves with near childish reasoning. You have applied to schools, presumably to read the requirements prior. The moment that you AMCAS is transmitted to any specific school, you have given your agreement to abide by the published prereqs. Indeed, you are under the rules and regulations of the student handbook for each school. You then further stipulate this when submitting a secondary and finally when you agree to your acceptance. Each of these times to you abide to these, your are agreeing that you 1) know the requirements, 2) have filled the requirements or will by matriculation, and 3) are attesting that this is true. Tell me how after all that you could possibly claim you "did not know." If an acceptee were to somehow get thru prematriculation with a missing prereq being caught, but found later on as due diligence continues, you could be subject to removal and dismissal for ethical lying on your application
You're absolutely right. I was just stressing how to save up 1k to pay for the class because I barely make ends meet. I just needed some guidance, so thank you for your feedback. I will be completing the course before matriculation so that I don't screw myself over.

It's a writing class. Did any of your college classes have extensive writing? The school may waive the requirement if you can provide a syllabus for a writing intensive class that is along the lines of what they're looking for. An osteopathic school waived a second writing class for my pre-reqs. I had a philosophy class that had extensive readings and writings as per the syllabus and class description.

^ You must have taken several writing-intensive classes by now, having gone this far in undergrad.

Send over syllabuses of courses that might meet this requirement to admissions.

The worst case take online class from any school.
You need to check accredited school for sure though for online class.
Contact the school who accepted you if your current classes can fulfill the requirement.

I did this and they accepted the course. Thank you for your help!

You should ask, I told them in my app that I was going to take biochem but it wasn't required by the school. Because it was in my app they are holding me to it and I'm taking it right now... So you should definitely ask.
