As far as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity I dont think there is any question that computer/video games develop both. The question is; should I include this in my dental application (not the essay but the aadsas app)? How can I word it so that it sounds positive, and not like i just play video games all day long?

don't

I agree... I wouldn't put that in an essay... Thats kinda over the top... But it prolly won't hurt to drop it in an interview.... But feel out your interviewer... One of mine went from talking about forensics in dentistry for about 20 minutes... Then he asked about manual dexterity so i rattled off a few things: model-making, instruments, fly-tying, all that jazz... then I figured what the hell and kinda slipped video games in as a joke... He said "Sure! that counts!", wrote it down, and went on to tell me that he plays Madden with his son and challenged me to a game if I got in... Looks like I can take him up on that... 👍

I wouldnt think of putting it in my essay, but on the aadsas application there is a short section that asks about hobbies or talents involving manual dexterity and a breif description.

edit: i didnt realize I put essay in my original post, that was an error. I dont think it would be smart to put it in ther personal essay. but what about the manual dexterity section in the aadsas app?

Incorporate that with what you've shadowed from a dental clinic. For instance, some of these games has helped you better visualize the X-Ray monitor when observing how the dentist uses that to position himself for a root canal ...😀

many people did it last year.
