Computer questions

Just wondering if any current students could shed light onto the "computer" topic.....
1) Are there classes that you would find yourself needing a computer
2) If so.....the good ol desktop vs laptop dilemma. I like that you get more for your $ with the desktop, but for traveling purposes does the laptop win out?

What school are you going to be attending? Some of the schools have large computer labs so a computer is not necessary. Check with your school first.

Classes which a computer helped...

At NYCOM, the OMM department always post the powerpoint presentations for download and that is definitely a great review before tests. We're also given CD-ROMs for Histology (helpful), Biochemistry (so-so), Genetics (never used it) and Neuroscience (essential). I also used the Netter's CD-ROM for anatomy to help me.

I think to have a computer/laptop is entirely up to you. It's definitely a bonus to have one but not essential since most schools have computer labs that meet the need. Most of my classmates use their computers at home more for games and email than anything else.
