Has anyone taken the Form D yet? I have heard they are reserving it for the school's to use only. Any thoughts on how it compares to the other forms/Comlex? The other forms seem to suffer from a lack of real predictive value.

I just took it. Made a 372. I've taken many phase 2 COMSAEs, and this one is the hardest. It was harder than the last time I took the actual exam. What was interesting was I did better on subjects that I normally do horribly in and vice verse (FM, peds and H&P in the former, IM psych and prevention in the latter). I saw terms on their I've never seen in any review books. I'm concerned that my review books are inadequate (Step Up to Step2, the 2nd newest edition, USMLE step 2 secrets, underground vignettes). I also use the Paul Bolin lectures as well as some Kaplan OBGYN lectures I've found. I used DIT, it was good for knowing what's high-yield and such but he just reads from Step Up.

I'm baffled right now. I failed step 2 by 2 points, the time before that by 40. My best COMSAE score was a 402 in July 2013.

My school is making us take Form D for step 1. I'm getting ready to take it soon so I'd also like to hear opinions from those who have already taken it.

Indybailey, did you end up taking form D??? I'm taking it tomorrow... it mandatory for my school and in order to be eligible to take COMLEX. I'm so nervous about this... not ready!!

I thought it was more difficult than form A and C. Sounds like there is a consensus that it under predicts your score. If you've done well in the first 2 years and have been studying (pathoma, uworld, comquest) then you'll do fine.

Also remember that you are able to pause the exam 😉

I think only schools have access to that one. I've taken form D only because it was required of us before the COMLEX.

Oh yes I remember someone saying that it was reserved for the COMs. I didn't know some COMs require it. I only took the COMAT

I took this a few days ago and scored a 496. Not sure where I "should be" at this point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to continue to prepare.. My exam is first week in July!

I was very nervous to take this -- form d was a little more difficult than combank questions in my opinion but there were also people who finished the test in 2 hrs..lots of endo, repro, and cardio. all around I thought it was fair. Definitely a few WTF kind of questions but that is to be expected right?? Haha

Just came back from... 458. Didn't pass the school requirement so I'll be taking Form C soon. Lol. Ugh.

You'll have to tell me how you scored so high... I've done pathoma, 1st pass in FA, and 60% done DIT. But my Uworld avg. are low and my COMBANK in 60% right now. I have 2 more weeks before they make me take C! :/

Btw, yes, Form D was awful. So many randoms... I expected Pharm and Repro heavy but was surprised by the Neuro.

@Dhenki. I'm sorry to hear you didnt pass your school requirement.. Make sure to study your high yield OMM stuff (autonomics, chapmans) How many questions are you doing per day? I do 2 days Uworld (2 sets) and 2 Days combank (3 sets). I am not actually doing DIT but I start off with questions and then move on to FA in the evenings + Pathoma. Hang in there and you will rock form C. Keep at it!

@gp04. I really do need to look over more OMM. I performed "borderline" in that... the sacrum questions! Otherwise, Form D didn't have many autonomics and Chapmans, sadly.

As for questions, I do 50/day, switching between COMBANK and UWorld weekly. The vague questions on COMSAE are what really get me. I'm taking USMLE as well.

Thank you, though!!! Form C will definitely be better, you're right.... just need to keep going! 🙂

Do more questions guys! I'm no all star and I'm able to do 2 UWorld 1 Combank block per day, review them all thoroughly, write notes/annotate FA for what's necessary and look over that. And I know there are folks on here doing more than me. Questions are where it's at. Kick up the questions!!!

I took the Phase 2 COMSAE D for COMLEX 2CE (written exam) as our school requires us to pass it prior to taking the COMLEX. I am shocked at how much sacral was on this thing and how much OB/GYN OMM we had to know. I saw diseases in answer choices that I had never heard of. I am quite saddened that I think the USMLE 2 will be easier to prepare for.

You're using Combank? I am too and a friend of mine told me Comquest is where it's at. I heard the questions are very similar to the real thing and my Combank expires soon so I was thinking about getting Comquest instead.

I agree with you as90! It's a lot of hit or miss and the sacrum is the worst for me. I rather do cranial questions! Lol. I'm preparing for both USMLE and COMLEX, and preparing for USMLE does seem more straight forward... quite the opposite of what people think.
