  1. Pre-Dental
So I'm a senior biotech student applying to dschool this summer (Hopefully June/July). I have a decent ogpa of 3.5 and sgpa of 3.4 and have yet to take the DAT but I'm shooting for a ~20AA. I've been the president of my college's natural science club, co-captain of my competitive equestrian team, a member of our string orchestra for some semesters, etc, but I only have ~10 hours of shadowing so far. I'm planning on get another 40-50 hours over the next few months. Do dental schools look down on shadowing hours crammed in at the end like that? I've been so busy over my college career working at my non-dental but paid job that I've seriously neglected getting in the hours of shadowing. Hoping that it won't be too much of a detriment to my application!

Bump...also studied abroad my junior year, amazing experience but not dental related whatsoever. Do dental schools have any positive, negative, or neutral feelings towards study abroad?

You made time to be president, co-captain and be a member of a string orchestra, but managed to devote only 10 hours to shadow the profession you wish to devote your life to. Interesting.

relatively neutral. Perhaps at the interview they ask you about your experiences abroad to get to know you better, perhaps not. It's not too important to them compared to dentistry-related items on your application or general ECs.

But get those shadowing hours up.
