Not sure what you're looking for, but I'm in the same boat. Applied in 2003, decided to take some time off, now re-applying in 2009. Send me a PM if you have specific concerns.

-Don't rush
-Don't take advice from people who have not gotten into med school before.
-Take lots of MCAT practice tests and make sure that you are getting a good score on those prior to taking the real thing.
-Don't take MCAT advice from people who scored low on the MCAT.
-If you are not currently volunteering for anything, get started....soon.
-If you have prereqs to take get A's.
-APPLY EARLY.

Also, start thinking now of people (profs) who would write strong letters of recommendation for you. You will generally need at least 3 letters - 2 science profs, one "other" that many require to be from your major. Other letters that you can also obtain: from research gigs, from a significant volunteer experience, or from paid employment. If you can already start acquiring those now, get an Interfolio account to store them for when you need them. Don't put off getting letters, because it can really hold up your application.
