Going straight to the question...

I have a question about the payback timeline..

If I do specialty program at Army( let's say 4 yr program), then do I have to add additional 4yr of Active duty?

What I thought is...

4 yr of d-school + 4yr of HPSP payback + 4 yr specialty program + 4 yr payback for specialty program + 4yr of Army reserve.

Am I right???

And.......Is concurrent payback possible?
If possible, 4yr d-school + 4yr HPSP payback +4yr specialty program + 4 yr Army reserve?

(Someome says that if I receive 20k bonus, I can't payback concurrently..)

Please help me.....

Try the stickies at the top of the page or a thread several down from here as this has been asked and answered many times.

There is a tremendous amount of information in the sticky threads at the top of the page which will probably answer a number of questions for you.

The 4 yr of Reserve time is not necessarily a part of payback. Any amount of time you do on active duty past the initial 4 yrs that most people owe will be subtracted from your Reserve time. If you do at least 8 yrs active duty you will owe no Reserve time.

Any HPSP obligation can be paid back concurrently (regardless of if you took the $20k)

See the other threads for examples of how the payback works. Even with the longest payback (OMFS) you would usually look at 9 yrs payback best case scenario and the other specialties the soonest you would be done with payback is 6 yrs total time on active duty.
