I think its fibrous connective tissue for non-articulating surfaces. Please correct me if I am wrong.

if non articulating portion are ant surface of eminence and the post tympanic portion as far as i understand

You could be right, I was thinking differently. Periosteum seems a logically correct answer.

I am taking the exam on June 2nd.
I wish I had more time because I work full time in IT.
I am currently studying Biochem-physio.
I have not yet started MP or DA.
