Based on the AAMC guide to the MCAT, the relative difficulty of each exam administered during a cycle (as there are multiple versions) is normed so that every test taker is taking a test of empirically equal difficulty. Do the confidence bands represent what AAMC has determined are the likely range of scores an individual might have gotten had they taken a different version of the test during the same cycle?

I'm pretty sure that is what a confidence band is for.
