Pharmacist sent a document with patient information back through yahoo email account. It contains patient name, account number, date and findings. I notified my supervisors.
A supervisor sent me an email saying that as long as he deletes it and I delete it, it should be okay, but that email disappeared. The director told me verbally that they are managers and it's not a confidentiality breach.I think the email is still on yahoo server even if it is deleted.
Any thoughts? since they're not going to do anything about it...

Why did you go to your supervisor like a snitch?

Why didn't you just say to the other pharmacist--- "Hey bro, probably shouldn't send patient information over Yahoo! email"

You seem wonderful to work with.

Oh yeah, I also have plenty of thoughts. Maybe you should call the State Board.

Oh yeah, call the police too.

Here's Yahoo's! contact information:
Yahoo! Inc.
701 First Avenue
Sunnyvale, CA 94089
Tel: (408) 349-3300
Fax: (408) 349-3301

Call Yahoo! and tell them some bad pharmacist sent an email with patient information on it. I bet you that they'd totally spend hours looking for it. I mean how many emails does Yahoo! go through in a day? Probably like 10 or 20 imo.

Here's directions if you personally want to go to Yahoo!

From San Jose:

•Take 101 North and exit on Mathilda Avenue.
•Turn right on Mathilda and continue to First Avenue (also marked as Bordeaux on the right).
•Make a left on First Avenue.
•Make first right into Yahoo! parking lot. Building D (701) is the first building on the right side.
•The lobby entrance faces the courtyard.

From San Francisco:

•Take 101 South and exit onto 237 east (Alviso/Milpitas exit).
•Merge onto 237 and exit immediately toward Mathilda Avenue.
•Turn left onto Mathilda Avenue and continue to First Avenue (also marked as Bordeaux on the right).
•Make a left on First Avenue.
•Make first right into Yahoo! parking lot. Building D (701) is the first building on the right side.
•The lobby entrance faces the courtyard.
(If you miss the 237 exit off 101 South, continue to Lawrence Expressway North exit. Turn left and continue on Lawrence Expressway North, which turns into Caribbean Way. First Avenue is a few miles up on the right side.)

Anyway. God speed! Thanks for what you do!
