Dear All,

What's your advice on dealing with conflicting revisit days? Two programs that I am very interested in and have been accepted to have revisit days that are overlapping. In this case do people generally just decide which one to attend or can one go to half the revisit day in one school and the other half in another school.

I asked one of the administrators at a program about this, because I too have the same problem. Basically, she said you have to decide to go to one, which sucks. I would still contact the programs individually and mention that you're really interested in their program, but have this conflict. They may be able to offer another visit (which is lame because you won't be able to meet your possible future classmates), or they may encourage you to do the split time between the two.

@Fencer made a suggestion to someone with this problem on a different thread and basically said that you're in the driver seat now that you've been accepted and should talk to the PDs. if they really want you, they will be willing to help accommodate your request and set up time with you and faculty of interest. (if they're not willing to help you set up a different visit, do you really think the school is a good fit for you? because inflexibility before you even start the program doesn't bode well in my opinion for potential hiccups and unexpected events that might take place later during your time in the program).

it is true that you won't be able to meet potential future classmates, but they are unlikely to change the date of second look for a single student... if you don't mind splitting the time between 2 schools over the second look, the schools usually don't mind that and it would likely be less of a hassle on their end for logistics of your faculty meetings.
