Questions for prospective mentors at revisit

What sorts of questions should we ask at revisit of our prospective mentors? There are a couple old threads that don't have much information, but what are the "right" things to ask about? Funding? Lab Environment? How/why the PI likes the institution? Mentoring style (i.e. open-door, hands-on, etc)?

I'd say it's too early to start asking about funding--a lot can change in a couple years.

Mentoring style, direction of the lab/research, where grads from the lab have ended up, etc. are all what I'd consider good questions. You should also ask what kind of projects he would envision a new student would do, although that also can change significantly change with time.
